Gianni Dezio's cuisine revolves around the product, intervening only to enhance its characteristics.
Born in Atri (Italy), he moved to Venezuela at the age of three with his parents, who opened an Italian restaurant there, following in the footsteps of his grandmother, who had pioneered the management of a home-style restaurant during the South American emigration boom.
After graduating in tourism in Teramo and gaining some experience in Venezuelan kitchens, he decided to return to Italy to attend the Niko Romito Academy. In 2014, together with his wife Daniela Trabucco, also a bit Italian and a bit Venezuelan, he opened the restaurant Tosto in Atri. The restaurant will close in 2021. In the same year, Dezio fulfilled one of his dreams by doing an internship with Andoni Luis Aduriz at Mugaritz in Errenteria.
On his return, he opened +Tosto Gastro Bottega, a small restaurant with a popular menu, from breakfast to dinner, to take away or eat in the open air.
One of his next goals is to open a research restaurant.
